The German Offensive in the West,winter 1944-1945


Sorry,I just can't wait to take my result,but I will keep posting the history fact for today..this day I will post the last German offensive in WW2..
1.Hitler raised 'Volksturm' or the homeguard for the defense of the Third Reich stated that all men between the ages of 16-60 years will be recruit in order to become a 'saviour' for the Third Reich..
2.French 1st and US 7th Armies had reached Rhine River at Alsace..
3.The German amassed 24 divisions for the counter-offensive at Ardeness under the overall command of Field Marshal Gerd Von Runstedt..
4.Let us see the movement of German offensive at Ardeness or well known as the Ardeness Offensive..
a)The 1st Offensive against the US weakest sector between Monschau and Echternach..
b)5th Panzer Army under Gen Hasso Von Manteuffeil will covered 7th Panzer Army which wheel northwestward to cross Meuse River of Namur in a drive on Brussels..
c)6th Panzer Army under SS Gen Sepp Dietrich will move to north to capture Antwerp..
5.Ardeness Offensive was launched by surprised on 16th December 1944 took the allies by surprised..
6.5th Panzer Army managed to crossed Meuse River at Givet and Dinant and reached the point of 20 miles of crossing it..
7.Small US forces under Bradley was encircled at Bastogne.The allies support by transported the 101st US Airborne Division under the command of Gen Chester Anthony McAullife..
8.26th December 1944,Patton's 3rd Army relief of Bastogne.The weather was cleared and the allied aircraft,some 5000 warplanes began to strafe and bomb the German forces..
9.During 8th-16th January 1945,the Germans troops began to withdraw.The Germans sustained 120000 casualties and the Americans sustained about 75000 in the famous Battle Of Bulge..
